I definitely stuck with VHS for a while, and it was a different experience. I am usually multitasking now when I watch DVDs, because I play them on my laptop, but back when VHS was big, I was completely involved in the movie. I sort of miss that experience of sitting in a dark room, with only the movie playing. And when I was little, I would watch old movies on this ancient TV set that barely worked. Good times!
I also tend to go with what's already gone out of fashion. I have a Walkman. And I it.

Lt. Maria Laguerta: So then he must have already had the head with him in the front seat. Huh, that's weird. Why would he keep it there? Dexter Morgan: I don't know. So he could use a carpool lane.
Haha, . I admit that I don't even have TV anymore, so I haven't been in the TV room for the LONGEST time. So that means I've only been exposed to DVDs and online episodes for about three years.

Episodes online yeah, me too. No cable either for me. But I do have a television and a nifty two-in-one DVD-VHS player and a humongous collection of tapes. >:}
The library near my house produces these strange treasures randomly. I am so awful... I take them no matter what. One time, it was this simply amazing collection of VHS movies which I snapped up right then and there. The next time it was about fifty comic books in Chinese which I haven't touched since. Then it was tons of knitting books, and a day or two ago it was the Borne Identity.

I like them both. VHS doesn't get destroyed as easily by handprints or scratches unlless you mess with the film and it lasts pretty well for a long time. Then again a dvd is better because the wider selection of deleted scenes, commentary, scene selection, subtitles and changing the language and other such features as well as better, sharper graphics. Otherwise I like both, either way, people could still copy off either of them. VHS is a bit trickier then a dvd...not that I ever did this. I've just seen it done.
I see the good sides of both too. But I am still attached to VHS. Sentimental reasons.

Always look on the bright side... there's more light there and it's easier to find stuff.
